Polistuc WOOD has successfully developed a line of exterior coatings called IDROPOL, designed and tested for garden furniture, decking, windows, and wooden structures. The products are all monocomponent, they allow to effectively and efficiently protect the treated substrate. The products are divided into clearor pigmented, they are resistant to atmospheric agents and in particular to solar radiation.
Atmospheric agents, smog, solar radiation and microorganisms present in nature cause a slow but inexorable degradation of a natural material such as wood, which if used as a material for doors, windows, shutters, garden furniture, decking and structures in wood, must be properly protected. Waterborne products are preferred for this purpose since they are able, compared to solventborne ones massively used in the past, to effectively protect the molecular structure of the wood for a long time and reduce emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere.

IDROPOL – High quality impregnating agents
IDROPOLincludes two series of high performance impregnating agents for the treatment of essences used in the construction of doors and windows. WIE10800 identifies high-performance impregnating agents specific for softwood, while the WIE10400 series are specific for hardwood. Unlike the WIE8000 and WIE4000 series, WIE10800 and WIE10400 are two specific series for long-lasting and guaranteed coating systems up to 10 years. They penetrate effectively into the substrate and slide easily on its surface, coloring it evenly. The application of an impregnating agent is the first step of a Polishieldcoating system, they allow to properly prepare the surface for the application of the sealer and facilitate the adhesion of the entire coating system. IDROPOL – Traditional impregnating agents
IDROPOL includes four series of traditional impregnating agents intended for the protection of wooden structures placed outdoor. They differ from each other in terms of application method and coatable essence. The WIE8000 series identifies specific impregnating agents for softwood. WIE4000 the specific ones for hardwood. Both of these series are applied by spray or brush. The WIE8900 series identifies the dipping or flow coating version of WIE8000, while the IMW5400 identifies the dipping or flow coating version of WIE4000. They penetrate effectively into the substrate and color it evenly. IDROPOL – Traditional waxy impregnating agents
IDROPOL includes four different types of waxy impregnating agents intended for the protection of the wooden substrates placed outdoor. WIC2100 series is suggested windows and doors made of unstable woods. The series is characterized by a solid content similar to the coatings usually used for this final use destination, it uniformly colors the substrate, resisting the movements caused by humidity and heat present in particular aggressive climatic conditions. WIC2200 are recommended for structures that are completely or partially exposed to solar radiation and atmospheric agents. WIC2250 is WIC2350 are recommended for structures that are completely or partially exposed to solar radiation and atmospheric agents in particularly aggressive climatic conditions, preserving the wooden structures from degradation and consequent greying. They penetrate effectively into the substrate and color it evenly. All four series must be applied in two coats, the first directly on raw wood previously sanded, the second on itself, waiting for it to be touch dry. They are available in 14 different colors, as well as being a product with a customizable color.

PLANT – Impregnating agents from renewable resources
PLANT includes two series of impregnating agents formulated with raw materials from renewable resources, for the protection of substrates intended for outdoor use, and are specific for conifers or broadleaves. They penetrate effectively into the substrate and slide easily on its surface, coloring it evenly. It is the first step of a Polistuc Plant coating system, it allows to adequately prepare the surface for the application of the sealer and facilitates the adhesion of the entire coating system. IDROPOL includes two clear waterborne insulating agents. WIS311 is a clear insulating agent, bicomponent, while WIS305 is monocomponent, specially formulated for the painting of windows and doors constructed with essences rich in tannin and extractives, substances commonly found in oak, iroko and chestnut woods, which cause an uneven final appearance or localized areas where the paint film does not dry.

WFE10000 identifies the sealer to be applied by spray, while WFE10001 identifies the sealer applicable by immersion. They are characterized by a remarkable resistance to removal, are endowed with excellent transparency, good elasticity and verticality and excellent sandability. They are suitable for painting windows and doors in general. They must be applied on wood previously treated with a suitable impregnating agent of the WIE10800 or WIE10400 series.

WFE0018 is a clear sealer designed for applications on okumè, it is provided with an optimal transparency and grain definition, good elasticity and optimal sandability. WFE114 is a white sealer provided with good removal resistance and insulating properties, good elasticity and sandability. They must be applied on wood previously treated with a suitable colorless impregnating agent WIE8000 or WIE4000. WFE0017 is a clear sealer suitable for flow coating applications, it has good transparency, good elasticity and excellent flow during application. It must be applied on wood previously treated with a suitable impregnating agent of the WIE8900 or WIE5400 series.

PLANT – Sealers from renewable resources
PLANT includes two monocomponent waterborne sealers for exterior. WFE12000 is a clear sealer, while WFE1300 is a white one. They are thixotropic and suitable for painting the common essences used for the construction of windows and doors, even in okumé plywood. They have excellent drying speed, excellent levelling and good sanding. Suitable for coating systems with low environmental impact. It is always recommended to apply a tinted (clear system) or colorless (pigmented system) impregnating agent, specific for coated essence (conifers or broadleaves).

IDROPOL – Clear topcoats by brush WOE2000
WOE2000 is a series of monocomponent waterborne clear thixotropic matt topcoats dedicated to brush application. They are topcoats with excellent blocking resistance, elasticity and transparency. They are easy to apply, do not drop and determine an optimal aesthetic result. They are particularly suitable for extraordinary maintenance of wooden elements and structures that are not very exposed or protected, if delamination, breakage or flaking of the pre-existing system has appeared. Being a monocomponent product, it can also be applied promptly in the damaged area, after sanding with removal of the old paint film.

WOEP309G identifies a series of white topcoats with excellent levelling, smoothness to the touch and resistance to blocking. It does not have the typical surface softness, shortly after its application. PLANT – Topcoats from renewable resources
PLANT includes two series of matt thixotropic waterborne monocomponent topcoats Specifically designed for coating systems resistant to solar radiation and atmospheric agents, they do not drop, are smooth to the touch and extremely resistant to blocking. The dried film has optimal water-repellent properties and contains special UV filters and iron oxides that protect the wood substrate from UV rays and wear caused by atmospheric agents. WOE12500 identifies a series of clear topcoats, that can be applied on substrates treated with proper tinted impregnating agent for conifers or broadleaves or on clear sealer. WOEP1310G, insetad, identifies the series of white topcoats that can be coated with the waterborne pastes of the tintometric system Colour Passion, to match pastel colours. They must be applied on items treated with a suitable impregnating agent for conifers or broadleaves or on a white sealer.

OTA7740G is a series of clear topcoats with excellent resistance to solar radiation, excellent gloss retention, good grain marking, smoothness to the touch, scratch resistance and water repellency properties. The high transparency makes these topcoats suitable for enrich the coated wood essence, keeping its distinctive characters clearly evident. OPBA7710G is a series of white topcoats also endowed with good smoothness to the touch, scratch resistance, excellent light fastness and atmospheric agents resistance. The good chromatic coverage allows to achieve a uniform surface.
